Bad first cycle split for aggro. I think what I fear most from his deck is Gunship rush and Garth cheating T2 Discipline or T2 Anarchy. Maybe sharks or Chaos Mirror. He doesn't have a good way to deal with Rook Maxband aside from Nether Drain, so I'll probably play around threatening that? It'll be pretty hard to keep Sets safe to max her out...

EDIT: I'm dumb, he has snapback!

    My thoughts (open)

It's hard not to take Birds when they are so effective against most decks. His is no exception. I don't want my foot totally off the gas with boulder for a second tech, but I also want some defense in case of Zane surprises (though Grave was the choice for now). Cuddles seems like a good choice to pair with early hero pressure. I'm still not sure how I want to beat his deck, his Tech 2 is a little strong than mine and his tech 3 is way better w/ Gunship. I suppose I try to harass with Birds and find openings where I can!

So we're deciding to concede Rook to a big play, but spend an extra card to keep him a little safer (I plan to play without much cards the next few turns, focus on tech 2 / heroes). Bringing in Ninja and Porcupine to bet on him biting on Rook and leaving me some space to tech up. Birds will help harass him down where necessary

Big play came, I come right back. I don't think he's going to ever be safe to tech 3 rush as long as I keep Earthquake pressure. Since I'm deferring a cycle here, going to grab Reversal and the other Glorious. When I do cycle next round, I want as much immediate impact as possible to come at his board. I can't let him get tech 3!

You didn't get a technician draw. I used Grappling Hook to move your Flagbearer to Lookout.

My bad @hitogoroshi! I changed one of my techs based on the fact that I won't be cycling right now, but otherwise my turn is completely unchanged. Good catch on that, back atcha!

Why hope he doesn't draw snapback when I can just guarantee he has no heroes for a turn? This should hopefully ensure I get lots of tech buildings killed and win the game, though it sucks I have to give up my birds for it! I really hope he doesn't get Steam Tank + Tech 3.

Well no double earthquake but I still got the tech building. No snapback means GG, I'm guessing that's not going to happen though. I suppose I'll max Sets next turn if he does? So better tech 1 FDS just in case

His tech 1 takes 4 and dies as well, because it's damaged.

Thank you @Cstick, edited my turn to reflect that! Also the taxman is alive, but the Savior monk is dead from my last turn!

I think that the Ninja would still kill the shark, since the shark only has 1 health. Also, surprise attack costs 5.

    Not for frozen (open)

If you meant to cast the sensei's advice that you drew (so that the shark kills the ninja), you forgot to list it in your actions.

@Legion Surprise Attack costing 5 just invalidates the whole turn, so this line still happened:

    1. Mine 11 gold + 3 float. Draw 1 card from Surplus. Tech no cards. Rebuild Tech I. (14) - specifically, the same card is drawn, and no cards can be teched.

And then everything else is scrapped, and can be re-done.

okay, new hand up. Can't kill Rook anymore, hopefully you don't have earthquake again?

At least, if nothing else, I got to live the dream of having a skeleton one-shot a tech building

GG WP! I was really hoping you didn't draw snapback with that double earthquake draw, I was shocked when I saw your first draft killing rook conventionally! Rightfully so it seems, though I think you were very close to having it even without the doom grasp! I had FDS teched just in case, but man I was sweating having to gut out an ending without Rook...
